The Power of Gratitude
This is Thanksgiving Week! It's a special time to pause and reflect on what we are most grateful for. Check out this video I made for you.
As a leader, one of the best tips I give my clients is this:
Be in a state of gratitude.
When you practice daily gratitude, you are stimulating your conscious unconscious to think outside the box, be more compassionate, be more creative, and be more open to new ideas.
You can't share gratitude too much. It's not possible. Being in a state of gratitude has no expiration date unless you choose to do otherwise.
And showing authentic appreciation is the same. You just cannot do it enough.
Excellence is going out of your way to say "Thank You" for something small. - Tom Peters, author
Write handwritten notes of thanks. They will really appreciate you for doing it.
When's the last time you told one of your employees, You matter. You're making a difference. We couldn't have done this without you. Thank you.
Indeed, true gratitude is one of life's most precious treasures. - Gary Burnison, CEO of Korn Ferry
Doing so oftentimes requires that you be vulnerable. Contrary to some beliefs, being vulnerable is a real strength. It makes you more authentic, which leads to a stronger connection with others.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving!
Until next time!
